Abstract
It is common to feel that science and technology are really far from us. However, it is not true. Science and technology are present in all aspects of our lives and getting knowledge about them would simplify our lives more than what we think.
Through this practical challenge learners will learn about science and technology, and they will use this knowledge in order to provide a practical solution to a problem we all have experienced ever. They will learn what electric conductors are, they will understand the logic behind them and they will identify some materials which act as electric conductors. Moreover, they will understand the functionality and usability this kind of materials have.
This activity should be developed individually or with the support of a trainer. It is focused on demonstrating the importance of having knowledge about science and technology for our daily life, by helping students understand how to create a free energy light bulb for lighting home in a simple way.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will learn how to get a free energy light bulb by using daily materials, understanding the logic behind electric conductors.
- Identify scientific knowledge by understanding the logic behind electric conductor materials.
- Apply engineering knowledge for constructing an electricity circuit.
- How to create a free energy light bulb.
- Develop scientific skills
- Develop technological skills
- Manage time and resources (for achieving objectives)
Other Instructions
In 5 simple steps you will be able to light your home in an emergency situation:
- Take two potatoes and put two screws on each of them.
- Take a piece of cable and remove the insulation at the tip. Roll up the tips (part with no insulation) in the screws. One part should go in one screw of A potato, and the other one in a screw of B potato.
- Now take the light bulb and the two other pieces of wire. Again, remove the insulation part at the tips of both wires. Take the welder and weld both cables to the light bulb.
- Finally, roll up the tips of the cables to the resting screws, one in each potato.
